Highlighting a Hero: Meet Trinity

  • Age:  7
  • Diagnosis:  Neuroblastoma
  • Loves:  The Tampa Bay lightning hockey team and Tom and Jerry are her favorite. Trinity loves Legos and Polly pockets.  She enjoys spending time with her two sisters and wearing matching outfits, especially their matching jean jackets from Rally for Reid.
  • Her story:  Trinity has been battling Neuroblastoma for almost five years. She relapsed and they found a rare mutation in her tumors that make them invisible on scans. She is on daily chemotherapy and just finished a two-year clinical trial to help prevent a second relapse. Trinity is now also dealing with hearing loss, speech issues, and auditory processing disorders as a result of treatment and the cancer.   Trinity visits her local oncology team every 8 weeks and the family travels out of town to visit her clinical trial team every 6 months.

Trinity’s mother would like to thank Rally for Reid supporters by saying “Thank you SO MUCH!  Being almost 5 years and a relapse into treatment is not the “normal” so it can and does make for a very lonely time as many people don’t know how to handle treatments not working for a child.  THANK YOU SO MUCH for loving on my family as we continue the fight!”

Due to our incredible supporters, we were able to send financial assistance to help cover the cost of Trinity’s treatment related expenses and send them a fabulous care package to help them feel special and loved while going through such a difficult time!

Remembering Reid-it’s birthday month!
This month is extra special for us because it’s Reid’s birthday month.  Reid was born on May 11, 2015 in Davenport, Iowa.  Reid William got his name from a beautiful combination of his mom’s maiden name and dad’s first name.
We miss you every day, sweet Reid, and wish a thousand wishes you were here to celebrate another birthday with us!  Happy #8-celebrate big in Heaven for us!

We are sending a very heartfelt thank you to all our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and event participants who continue to support our organization.  We are so grateful to be able to give to researchers who are working daily to find better treatments and cures for children battling brain tumors.  We are also so honored to pass on love and support to families currently in the middle of their pediatric cancer battle.  Thank you for helping us RALLY against childhood cancer.

Sending love,
Megan & The Rally for Reid Team
